A proven leader with a track record of action, not just promises.
I am a fourth-generation Lansdalian, born and raised right here in Lansdale. I grew up on Line Street, where my parents still live today, and attended St. Stanislaus School for primary school before graduating from Lansdale Catholic High School. After college at the American Institute of Design, where I studied Architectural Design & Construction, I worked for a number of years as an architectural designer in Center City, commuting daily by train. I have three wonderful children - Andrew, Lindsay, and Billy - and a beautiful, brilliant better half - Deb, all graduates of North Penn High School. Professionally, I manage Henning’s Trains, our family-owned business right here in Lansdale that's been a community staple for over 85 years. In addition, I’ve had the honor of serving our community as both an appointed and elected member of the Lansdale Borough Council for two terms. For nearly two decades, I’ve also been deeply involved in volunteerism, dedicating my time to numerous community initiatives and service projects to help make Lansdale a stronger, more connected place for everyone

As a fourth-generation Lansdalian, my passion for our community runs deep. I've seen firsthand how powerful local involvement can be, and I’m dedicated to ensuring that every part of Lansdale thrives, with a focus on service, inclusivity, and collective action.
As the store manager of Henning’s Trains, our 85+ year-old family-owned Lansdale business, I have an intimate understanding of the needs of our local businesses. I am dedicated to supporting our community's entrepreneurial spirit and ensuring every business, regardless of size, has the opportunity to grow and succeed.
At the age of 16, I joined the Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale as a junior volunteer firefighter, where I proudly served for nearly 20 years. Volunteering has always been a core part of who I am, and it’s a value I’ve carried through every part of my service to our borough.
For over a decade, as Scoutmaster, I have been privileged to mentor and guide the next generation of Lansdale leaders. I’ve focused on instilling core values of honesty, integrity, and community service, ensuring our youth understand the importance of giving back to the place they call home.
As a past President of the Lansdale Historical Society and current Communication Administrator, I’ve worked to protect our borough’s rich history, while also focusing on ensuring landmarks and spaces are accessible and relevant to the people of today.
I co-chaired Lansdale’s 150th anniversary celebrations and helped organize many of the year’s key events. I’ve continued this tradition by chairing and co-chairing some of our town’s most beloved events, including First Fridays, Founders Day, Cruise Night, Old Time Baseball & BBQ, Oktoberfest, Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival, Lansdale Holiday Mardi Gras Parade, and the Festival of Trees.
Over the years, I’ve organized multiple cleanups of Main Street and Lansdale parks. These events are not just about keeping Lansdale beautiful; they’re about fostering a sense of ownership and pride within our community.
I led the effort to save our iconic Lansdale Borough Hall from demolition with a petition to Borough Council. It’s one of many examples of my commitment to preserving Lansdale’s history and ensuring it’s celebrated for generations to come.
As Chairman of the Lansdale Freight House restoration committee, I help lead the effort to save another integral piece of Lansdale’s heritage. This building will soon serve as a valuable community asset for all to enjoy.
As President of the Lansdale Historical Society, I helped get the Lansdale passenger station listed on the National Historic Register, ensuring that it remains a vital and accessible part of our community for generations to come.
I presented the idea for a new gazebo in Lansdale’s Memorial Park and launched a community brick-selling campaign to fund it. The result is a stunning, accessible space dedicated to former Lansdale Mayor Michael DiNunzio Sr., a symbol of the lasting impact of community-driven initiatives.
Through my involvement in community events, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with our police department, developing a deep understanding of the challenges they face and how we can better support their efforts to protect and serve our community. As mayor, I will continue to strengthen this partnership, ensuring that our police officers have the resources and support they need to keep Lansdale safe. I believe in fostering a collaborative approach, where the police department, local government, and residents work together to create a safe, thriving community. I will prioritize initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and mutual respect, ensuring that our police force is not only equipped to keep us safe but also deeply connected with the people they serve.
My time as a two-term borough councilman has given me invaluable experience in understanding how the mayor and council must work together to best serve the residents of Lansdale. I’ve learned how to effectively navigate the intricacies of local government to ensure that resources are used efficiently and in ways that directly benefit our community. As mayor, I will prioritize open communication and collaboration with the council, ensuring that every decision reflects the needs and desires of our residents. Listening to the community will be at the core of my leadership, and I will actively engage with residents to hear their concerns, ideas, and feedback. Together, we can create a government that is responsive, accountable, and truly focused on improving the lives of everyone in Lansdale.
In 2018, I founded the Lansdale Business Alliance to help local businesses collaborate, support one another, and grow together. A thriving business community is essential for attracting outside investors and ensuring that Lansdale remains a great place to live, work, and invest. I’m proud to share that over the past two years, the Lansdale Business Alliance has seen tremendous growth with those involved and now collaborates closely with both Lansdale’s Economic Development Committee and Discover Lansdale.
I firmly believe that actions speak louder than words, and I’ve consistently demonstrated my commitment to Lansdale through direct, hands-on involvement in shaping our community. From saving historic landmarks to organizing cleanup events, my focus has always been on tangible outcomes that improve the lives of our residents. If you choose to support me, you're choosing a candidate who has not only talked about making a difference but has consistently delivered real, measurable results. My record speaks for itself, whether it's revitalizing public spaces, supporting local businesses, or preserving our borough’s rich history, I’ve always been about making things happen. Together, we will continue to build a Lansdale where promises are kept, and progress is made through action, not just words.
As President of Discover Lansdale, I’ve continually demonstrated my commitment to making Lansdale a better place. From fostering local business partnerships to creating new events, I’ve made it my mission to build a vibrant, inclusive community. As your mayor, I will continue to focus on strengthening our local economy, supporting small businesses, and ensuring that all residents have access to the resources they need. I will work to expand opportunities for community involvement, improve public spaces, and develop programs that bring people together, regardless of background or ability. Together, we will build a Lansdale that is not only a great place to live today, but one that is well-positioned for a prosperous and inclusive future
In 2022, I was honored to receive the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County’s annual Community Service Award in recognition of my continued hard work and dedication to Lansdale.
The General Nash District, Boy Scouts of America, recognized my hard work and dedication to the organization by presenting me with the annual Senderling Award.
This award is meant to honor those, like George Senderling, who have passionately dedicated a significant portion of their lives to Scouting.
I will forever carry the pride of Lansdale with me, wherever I go.
For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of organizing the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to carry the American flags during the Lansdale Memorial Day Parade. This event has become a powerful tradition, one that truly reflects the pride we all share in Lansdale. It’s a meaningful opportunity for the scouts to honor and show respect for this
For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of organizing the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to carry the American flags during the Lansdale Memorial Day Parade. This event has become a powerful tradition, one that truly reflects the pride we all share in Lansdale. It’s a meaningful opportunity for the scouts to honor and show respect for this important day of remembrance, while also celebrating the unity and strong sense of community that makes Lansdale such a special place.
I also personally provide the American flags for the scouts to carry and to place on the back of the stage for the annual Lansdale Memorial Day Parade. Recognizing a need that wasn’t being addressed, I stepped up to help ensure this important day receives the respect it truly deserves.
I designed, drew, and led a group to paint the large American flag on the VFW building in Lansdale. I’m proud of our American veterans, and this was a meaningful way for me to show my appreciation and pride in our armed forces.
I painted the train on the wall mural on S. Wood Street. I’ve always loved the creative spirit and the arts in our community, so I was excited to have the opportunity to be a part of such a great project.
I supply, install, and take down the red, white, and blue bunting that often hangs in the gazebo in Memorial Park. After completing the Michael DiNunzio Sr. Gazebo, I felt it needed one more touch to truly solidify its place in the park - like the cherry on top.
I’m known for portraying the conductor while reading The Polar Express at the Lansdale Public Library. It’s one of my favorite stories, and I truly cherish the opportunity to share it with the kids in our community.
I was part of the team that worked hard to bring the skatepark to life at 4th Street Park. Recognizing the need for more activities for the youth in our area, I jumped at the chance to help bring this valuable asset to our community.
I created the annual Lansdale Cruise Night and Food Drive which has collected 1,000's of pounds of food through the years for Manna on Main Street. There are many families and individuals going through difficult times in our community and it is important that we work together to help where we can.
My journey has been one of active participation, collaboration, and service to Lansdale. But there’s still much more to accomplish. Together, we can continue to build a borough that thrives through community involvement, service, and inclusivity.
I believe in being accessible and always open to conversations with the residents I serve. If you have ideas, concerns, or just want to chat about the future of Lansdale, I’m here for you. You can reach me anytime by phone at 215-872-2803 or by email at forlansdale@billhenning.com.
